Maine state licensure/certification to practice as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Conditionally Licensed Social Worker (LSX), Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community (MHRT/C) or Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Crisis Service Provider (MHRT/CSP) is preferred

The MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital has a part-time opening to join our team as a Behavioral Health Counselor. Our inpatient behavioral health unit treats patients with mental health conditions that require 24-hour care. The unit offers expert treatment in a state-of-the art therapeutic facility.

Summary

The role of Behavioral Health Counselor involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions. The incumbent will be under direct clinical supervision for services provided.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as psychology, social work, social and behavioral sciences, or mental health and human services.
  2. License/Certifications: LSX, LSW, MHRT/C, or MHRT/CSP from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR) preferred.
  3. Experience: At least one year of behavioral health experience
