This person would be second in command behind Bill Python, Pyspark, SQL PowerBI Dashboards Databricks (as a primary data processing form) Medallion architecture Azure shop Legacy on prem/ sql server and migrating to Databricks. Summary of the Role Calamos is seeking a lead Data Engineer with a passion for both data and the financial services industry. As a member of the Data Engineering team, this individual will be responsible for the management, curation, and understanding of the firm's mission-critical data. The candidate will be the lead engineer tasked with leveraging the Databricks platform to create a competitive advantage for the organization. Primary Responsibilities: Manage, curate, and understand the firm's mission-critical data. Demonstrate strong communication skills to work effectively with business stakeholders and the data engineering team. Continuously evolve our lakehouse implementation to accelerate business value for all stakeholders Oversee the full life cycle of data pipeline projects, including design, development, testing, documentation, and production support. Build modern data pipelines using complex financial datasets needed for analytic products. Refine requirements with stakeholders based on their analytics needs. Collaborate with architects and engineers from other teams. Deliver software projects that adhere to both agile methodologies and firm software standards. Build semantic models to be utilized within Power BI dashboards. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience required. At least 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer 3 years of experience developing primarily on the Databricks platform A working knowledge of programming languages such as Python or SQL to process data. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data products. An understanding of equities, options, and fixed income security data Prior experience participating in building master data management systems. Knowledgeable in the basic reporting aspects of portfolio accounting Knowledge of swaps, futures, and other derivatives is also a plus Possess an enthusiasm for technology outside of work-related activities Compensation Disclosure The compensation for this role takes into account various factors, including work location, individual skill set, relevant experience, and other business needs. The estimated base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $175,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Please note that this is the current estimate of the base salary range intended for this role at the time of posting. The base salary range may be adjusted in the future.
