Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 7:00am - 5:00pm

OVERVIEW:

Working as Full-time Environmental, Social, and Governance Support, you will work closely with business leaders to help craft policies and programs to help formalize Fastenal's internal approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define reporting metrics, create reporting controls, and monitor other critical KPIs. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

o Maintaining various aspects of the organization's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and corporate social responsibility (CSR) program

o Monitoring key aspects of Fastenal's CSR and ESG policies, programs, practices, training and goals

o Assisting with the development of relationships with community organizations where Fastenal maintains significant operations

o Establishing, measuring and reporting on data based Key Performance Indicators to guide the company's CSR and ESG improvement efforts

o Assisting with the engagement of relevant internal stakeholders to strengthen Fastenal's commitments and disclosures

o Assisting with the development of documentation for external CSR/ESG stakeholders, including large customers, investors and CSR industry influencers that build Fastenal's reputation

o Researching and preparing data responses addressing external stakeholder's inquiries, questionnaires and audits

o Assisting with the management of Fastenal's submissions and scores with key CSR and ESG influencers, such as CDP, SASB, EcoVadis, etc.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

o Excellent written and oral communication skills

o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite

o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills

o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities

o Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency

o Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

o Work independently as well as in a team environment

o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork

o Willingness to work a flexible schedule

o Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

o Possess or are working toward a degree in Business, Communications or a sustainability related field of study OR possess relevant work experience

o Willingness to travel, as necessary

o Knowledge of sustainability and CSR principles in a corporate environment

o Prior experience with CSR reporting frameworks

o Demonstrate a strong aptitude and passion for sustainability issues, disclosure practices and industry wide trends

FULL-TIME BENEFITS:

Fastenal offers a competitive benefits package to all full-time employees. This package includes Health, Life, Long Term Disability, and Dental Insurance, in addition to, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and 401(k) with an employer contribution.

COMPENSATION:

The base pay range for this position is $35,000 - 40,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
