Provides oversight and resource allocation for application implementation and upgrade projects. Coordinates application support for applications in the clinical and business departments across the organization. Executes and maintains technology strategies by managing resources, researching approaches, and implementing strategic technological solutions. Implements and maintains TSG policies, procedures, and goals to meet Carilion's needs. Ensures proper information system operations and plans necessary application life cycle upgrades. Directly responsible for the creation and delivery of development plans for staff to ensure the needs of the organization are met.
Duties may include but not limited:
- The Epic Application Manager provides day-to-day management of application teams that support designated Epic applications, modules, third-party applications, and Community Connect sites. Resources could include managed services, contract, or consultant labor.
- Responsible for the overall integrity of application build and infrastructure, the success of new Epic and integrated third-party application introductions and is a key participant in operational governance.
- Responsible for Epic project implementations; planning, allocating and managing resources, execution, and testing. May be asked to manage and maintain project plans, manage, or help develop project budgets, and provide project status. Oversees the execution and resource allocation for TSG application implementation and upgrade projects. Projects span all business and clinical areas within the organization. Responsibility for execution includes implementation of applications from outside vendors, both on premises and cloud, as well as designing, developing, and testing custom built software and application interfaces. Removes impediments, escalated by implementation teams, to ensure successful implementation of application projects.
- Responsible for ensuring that application configuration, interfaces between applications, processes, procedures, and software are adjusted and improved to resolve issues impacting operations within the organization. Escalates concerns with vendors and other teams to ensure issues are resolved in a timely fashion.
- Accomplishes positive staffing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, guiding, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains local and remote staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; develops personal growth opportunities and development plans for continued employee growth.
- Maintains TSG's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
- Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
- Develops and administers consultant and vendor contracts, manages key vendor relationships, and coordinates other internal and external support relationships as assigned.
What We Require:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Healthcare Business. Four years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of IT experience. Prior leadership experience preferred. Dependable Transportation
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: ITIL Foundation Certification
Other Minimum Qualifications: Must be analytical, dependable, and detail oriented. Must possess strong interpersonal skills and have a command of the English language (both written and oral). Must demonstrate solid leadership and presentation skills. Must be self-initiated, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be customer service oriented. Develops and administers consultant and vendor contracts, manages key vendor relationships, and coordinates other internal and external support relationships as assigned. Maintains quality service by creating and monitoring metrics, establishing standards, and adjusting operations to align with standards. Proactively identifies areas of improvement (process or technical) and develops plans to implement those improvements. Analyze and report on IT performance metrics and make recommendations for improvement.
