A reasonable estimate for this position is: * Exempt: $55,000 per year (Step 1) or $58,600 per year (Step 2) * Non-exempt: $26.35 per hour (Step 1) or $28.07 per hour (Step 2) Application Window Open date: July 28, 2025 Next review date: Tuesday, Aug 12, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Jun 30, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences in the School of Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis invites applications from qualified candidates for a Junior Specialist position. The successful candidate will join the Goldschmidt-Soltero laboratory to provide technical assistance in the biomedical field. Specific topics of interest include oral and maxillofacial biology, infectious diseases, and oncology. NATURE AND PURPOSE JOB SUMMARY AND DESIGNATED AREA OF EXPERTISE The candidate is required to provide technical assistance in biomedical field. Specific topics of interest include oral and maxillofacial biology, infectious diseases, and oncology. The candidate will provide mentorship of undergraduate and veterinary students, guiding them in laboratory safety and training in work and data analysis. The candidate's significant and meaningful contributions described above will lead to authorship or acknowledgement of published work. Bachelor's degree in life sciences, or related field, or be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in an above or related discipline. Good understanding of basic biology, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, stats, and anatomy. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written English). Desire to learn and acquire new skills, good record keeping and organization skills. Additional qualifications
