In this role, you will engage in a diverse range of electrical engineering tasks aimed at supporting correctional institutions across the state. Leveraging your knowledge of electrical engineering principles and methodologies, you will devise effective solutions to challenges related to operations, maintenance, design, or construction. Your responsibilities will encompass the review and preparation of various electrical engineering designs, along with the creation of detailed design drawings and specifications necessary for construction initiatives. You will also be involved in conducting site surveys for ongoing projects, participating in design review meetings and conferences, and coordinating design activities with all relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, you will provide expert recommendations concerning equipment and represent the department and facility during inspections and conferences, ensuring that the interests of the institution are effectively communicated and advocated for.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

• Employees with the required certification or license may be eligible to receive a lump sum payment at the time of hire and each time the certification or license is renewed.

• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week after the initial 6-moth training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years as an Electrical Engineer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of professional electrical engineering experience which required work on any structural electrical system.

Special Requirement:

• You must possess a Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.

Condition of Employment:

• This position requires possession a valid driver's license.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
