Overview: Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for an Implementation Engineer in Pleasanton, CA area. This is a great opportunity working for a multinational clothing and accessories retailer, this is an onsite contract opportunity offering benefits.

We are seeking a highly skilled Implementation Engineer to support a large-scale Campus Switching and Wi-Fi Refresh project. The engineer will follow provided scripts and guidelines to implement new network infrastructure across campus environments. This is a hands-on role focused strictly on implementation — not design or architecture — and requires deep technical expertise with Cisco and Juniper/Mist wireless and switching technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute pre-defined implementation scripts and procedures for campus switch and Wi-Fi refresh projects.
  • Deploy and configure Cisco Catalyst and Meraki switches.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Mist (Juniper) and Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Perform DNS and DHCP configuration and validation as part of network rollout.
  • Provide on-site or remote implementation support, ensuring minimal disruption to end users.
  • Collaborate with network engineering and project teams to ensure seamless deployment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of implementation steps and configurations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the cutover process.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering, specifically in campus network environments.
  • Proven experience deploying and supporting:


    • Cisco Catalyst and Meraki switching
    • Mist (Juniper) and Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi
    • DNS and DHCP


  • General knowledge of Juniper WAN technologies is a plus.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Must be detail-oriented and capable of executing implementation plans with minimal supervision.



Preferred Certifications (not required but a plus):



  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Professional (CCNP).
  • Juniper Networks Certification (JNCIA or JNCIS).
  • Mist Certified Professional.
