Summary

This position is responsible for the compilation, analysis and reporting of financial data for the firm. The Financial Analyst will assist in the development of annual budgets, monthly forecasts and trending analyses.

Required Education & Experience



  • BA or MBA in Business Administration or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with complex financial analysis in the professional services industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


Preferred Education & Experience



  • Law Firm experience preferred.

  • Financial Analysis (60%)

    • Supports the Finance Department in the use of technology to improve reporting and transaction processes, identify problems and formulate solutions.
    • Compiles and analyzes financial / production information on a firm-wide, departmental or individual basis.
    • Develops integrated revenue / expense analyses, projections, reports and presentations.
    • Performs financial forecasting and reconciliation of internal accounts.
    • Prepares forecasts and analyzes trends in finance, general business conditions and other related areas.
    • Designs and operates complex models for budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis and strategic planning.
    • Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to Controller.


  • Month End/ Year End Activities (20%)

    • Compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data for presentation to management.
    • Creates and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.


  • General and Administrative (20%)

    • Prepares financial and business related analyses and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital, and investments.
    • Performs data extraction and creates specialized reporting.
    • Completes special projects as assigned.
    • Assists with annual audit.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $103,000. The salary range for this position is based on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. The range is provided as an initial approximation at the time of posting and may vary based on the individual's unique qualifications and experience.
