This position is responsible for supporting the group with processing the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process. This position's primary focus will be associated with the general ledger process and the need to maintain the integrity of the underlying general ledger information and requirement to meet pre-stated deadlines in an efficient manner. Provide hands-on systems support to the Corporate Finance group. Serve as the liaison between functional users and IT technical staff. Test, maintain, and monitor financial related programs and systems, including supporting upgrades/installation of applications and systems. Assist users with computer systems and programs. Update system process documents and procedures manuals, including test plans. Support the monthly and quarterly closing processes as they relate to systems and reporting for 40 plus entities.

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Computer Science related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in GAAP, IFRS and/or STAT financial reporting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting guidance - ability to research accounting related issues
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and understand complex issues
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Strong Excel (creating macros a plus) and database skills
  • Ability to work under very tight deadlines
  • Continually seeks to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the reporting process
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials including nVision reporting tool and SAP financial systems a plus.
  • Insurance background preferred
