GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Internal Communication Specialist supports the Office of the CEO through relationship building and engagement across the organization. This role is responsible for implementing and improving an internal communications strategy that supports effective knowledge management across the organization.

The specialist will support our executive leadership team in company-wide communications that highlight our organization's values and effectively foster a communicative environment for our team. This position reports directly to the Chief of Staff.

Salary range $34.00-$43.00 an hour. Based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Develop and maintain the SharePoint based intranet, ensuring content is up-to-date and improving adoption across the organization.
  • Create and implement a process for internal communication creation, approval, and distribution.
  • Collaborate with leadership and teams to develop communication plans for executive, departmental, and organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Human Resources to ensure that all internal communications maintain our branding and voice standards.
  • Identify and implement enhanced communication channels for reaching our wide employee base.
  • Effective change management around creation and distribution of organizational communications.
  • Write, edit, and proofread a variety of internal communications, such as policy changes, benefit updates, organizational announcements, etc.
  • Track and report on communication metrics to measure effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Hands on experience with Sharepoint Intranet development and management.
  • 5+ years experience in internal communications or employee engagement.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities.
  • Effective communication with all levels and departments of an organization.
  • Project management or construction industry experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated discretion and judgement when handling confidential information.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment.
  • Visual acuity and ability to read small print.
  • Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment.
  • Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed.
