Hiring Range
The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $27.17.

About the Job
Under supervision, the Parking Operations Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support for Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) and Fleet Services. The Parking Operations Assistant will provide administrative support including but not limited to the following areas, citations, assisting in the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and completing transactions to ensure accurate reporting, assisting in the administration of ongoing communications related to TAPS and Fleet Services and providing backup support for daily TAPS office duties. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides comprehensive administrative support for Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) and Fleet Services. The Parking Operations Assistant will provide administrative support including but not limited to the following areas, citations, assisting in the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and completing transactions to ensure accurate reporting, assisting in the administration of ongoing communications with various outside local, state and nationwide agencies to coordinate second-level appeal hearings to ensure accuracy of adjudication processing related to TAPS and Fleet Services and providing backup support for daily TAPS office duties including but not limited to, permit sales, purchasing, parking reservations and event support as needed.
- In accordance with established process and procedures prepares of a variety of types of correspondence, distribution of violation notices, process declaration of non-ownership, administer citation payments and coordinate customer payment plans, audit duplicate payments and manage disposition to DMV Assist with preparation of reports. Maintains departmental personnel records and provide departmental personnel services.
- Prepares request for purchase orders by researching and recommending vendors/prices/equipment and may identify substitutes; process requisition requests for Parking and Fleet Services; timely submissions of work orders to CBS2; maintains Service Now Log, provide support in the processing of motorpool reservations; assist in the administration of fleet recharges; provide citations support; assist TAPS Director in outreach to campus key stakeholder groups to recruit and assemble the Transportation and Parking Services Advisory Committee (TAPSAC); orchestrate meeting dates/times; responsible for tracking minutes and ensuring TAPSAC website is current.
- Assist TAPS leadership in the coordination and administration of the following including but not limited to: TAPS CatCart Program: administration of ride schedules and corresponding student ambassador drivers; assist management team and Student Accessibility Services in determining rider eligibility; and other TDM support for rideshare and/or sustainability reporting.
- Under the direction of TAPS management, provide updates and maintains website pages to ensure all information on permits, transit and fleet updates are current, and ensure all content follows campus branding standards (text, images, logos, etc.)
Qualifications
EDUCATION and EXPEREINCE
- High school diploma and/or equivalent certification/experience/training.
AND
- Three (3) years administrative/clerical work experience, or the equivalent years of work experience which have led to the development of the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Or
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and relevant work experience which have led to the development of the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS
- Thorough knowledge in administrative procedures and processes including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- Requires good verbal and written communication skills, active listening, critical thinking, multi-task and time management skills.
- Requires interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance to other personnel.
- Direct knowledge of University of California policies and procedures. (Preferred)
