The Business Analyst is responsible for working independently, gathering historical system information, evaluating business objectives, and developing software application requirements related to enterprise projects.
POSITION DIMENSIONS
The incumbent does not have direct reports but may be responsible for the direct or indirect supervision of project team members and associated subject matter experts. The incumbent may be directly or indirectly responsible for a project budget and associated development hours based on complexity or management approval. The incumbent must be able to influence and interact with all levels of Company management and appropriate outside service providers. QUALIFICATIONS There are clear precedents and practices that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. This position requires four to six years of relevant work experience. A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field from an accredited university is preferred. Certified Business Analyst Professional preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Project and Visio preferred. Other required skills:

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Application Planning
- Obtain and organize business objectives through internal investigation
- Identify key stakeholders and contacts
- Establish functional requirements through the development of workflow charts, diagrams, and specifications
- Develop business cases with application stakeholders
- Develop and distribute vendor-facing documentation, such as Requests for Information (RFI), Proposal (RFP), and Quote (RFQ)
- Assure that Company standard practices are clearly understood and accounted for in the development plans
- Recommend system controls and best practices for application development
- Develop, maintain, and modify work plan for requirements development
- Provide reference material and documentation for users on the subject application
- Maintain project management protocols and procedures
- Coordinate with application stakeholders to identify post-completion business owner
- Develop preliminary responsibility support matrix
Assignment Execution
- Plan, facilitate and coordinate activities of assigned tasks within projects to ensure that functional requirements remain in scope of assignment and are completed within prescribed time frame and budget parameters
- Monitor and manage factors identified in the requirements analysis
- Monitor and report application requirements development progress
- Coordinate subject matter experts for assigned activities
- Work with others to: 1) be aware of changes in business considerations, 2) escalate issues as needed and 3) assure stakeholder satisfaction with processes and results
- Assess and request assistance as needed to resolve technical, business and other issues
- Transition application requirements to development and maintenance/support mode
- Facilitate business process change management as required
Assignment Conclusion
- Obtain agreement among stakeholders that all requirements and expectations have been delivered
- Direct the project team regarding retention of documentation in accordance with Company standards
- Participate in lessons learned session(s) and assist with finalizing corresponding documentation
- Archive list of requirements to be included in future phases as needed
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
