POSITION SCOPE

The Crusher Mechanic is a safety sensitive position that performs routine maintenance as well as minor and major repairs, on all the equipment in the aggregate stock fleet. Needs to have experience as a general crushing mechanic that understands and knows how to weld, fix and repair crushing equipment. They will be responsible for examining the equipment when it is in for scheduled service to determine if additional service is needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Perform regular scheduled service to all aggregate, mining and other equipment
  • Perform major repairs when needed to aggregate, mining and other equipment
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) with coworkers, even in high stress situations
  • Document and discuss with supervisor any major repairs that are discovered
  • Maintain an orderly work area
  • Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on loader, crusher, screen and/or wash plant including screen changes and routine maintenance
  • Document all services work done to equipment
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing this work, such as hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required by law
  • Work can be in a mine or plant setting which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity and moving mechanical parts
  • Mechanics are expected to supply personal tools
  • May need to attend additional training sessions with different equipment manufacturers
  • Perform other duties as assigned



REQUIREMENTS



  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1-year previous crusher mechanic experience
  • Must hold an M.S.H.A. Part 46 Certificate Required (5000-23)
  • M.S.H.A. Part 48 Mining Certificate Preferred but can be trained on (5000-23)
  • Have experience as a general crushing mechanic that understands and knows how to weld, fix and repair crushing equipment. They will be responsible for examining the equipment when it is in for scheduled service to determine if additional service is needed
  • Willing to work in a team environment
  • Mechanical schooling is preferred but willing to train
  • Previous welding experience preferred
