Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Safety and Health Professional II, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB in Tullahoma TN. The Safety and Health Professional II will be working as a member of an integrated team responsible for supporting the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Open to external candidates only. The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work primarily day shift. Shift determination will be made based on the priority of work at the time the selected candidate is cleared to report to work.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide safety and health support to assigned branch while integrating safety requirements into all aspects of assigned area of responsibility.

Job Duties:

    Provides safety and health support to assigned branch.
  • Integrates safety requirements into all aspects of assigned area of responsibility.
  • Assists with assessments and development/refinement of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and other pre-task planning tools.
  • Has technical responsibility for interpreting complex requirements, evaluating and applying appropriate safety engineering principles into scopes of work, plans, and methodologies suitable for achieving and maintaining compliance with safety requirements.
  • Develop/revise/ present safety training including working at heights, lockout/tagout, confined space, new hire orientation and others as required.
  • Conducts/participates in mishap investigations, safety assessments and preventive/corrective actions and prepares reports.
  • Maintains professional demeanor and behavior at all times.
  • It is a condition of employment to wear company issued PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Occupational Safey and Health with 5 - 10 years of progressive and relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and progressive and relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
  • Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance
  • Knowledge in a safety specialty (e.g., Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Excavation and Trenching Safety, Confined Space Entry, Craft Based Leadership, Human Performance Improvement or engineering (e.g., civil, process safety, system safety, mechanical)) or related disciplines of the principles and fundamentals of quality best practices tools and processes.
  • Understanding of safety management, monitoring programs, principles, and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of safety and health laws and regulations and applicable agencies' permitting processes and responsibilities, engineering, construction, and subcontract work processes.
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
