The Events and External Relations Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the mission and strategic initiatives of the UCR School of Medicine (SOM) by supporting alumni engagement, community relations, and institutional outreach. Working under the SOM Strategic Initiatives Department, this position contributes to programs and events that strengthen connections with alumni, students, donors, government officials, and the broader community.
The Coordinator will assist in planning and executing internal and external events such as symposiums, VIP briefings, fundraising galas, and milestone ceremonies, including the White Coat Ceremony and Commencement. These activities directly support UCR SOM's commitment to building community partnerships, enhancing philanthropic support, and advancing health equity across Inland Southern California. This role requires close collaboration with campus partners including UCR Development, UCR Government and Community Relations, and UCR Health. The incumbent will also contribute to communications and outreach efforts, logistical coordination, and alumni engagement programming. The full salary range for Events and External Relations Coordinator is $53,100 - $89,700 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $55,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with three days per week on campus and two days remote, providing flexibility while ensuring strong campus and community presence. |
