THE POSITION

We are in search of an energetic, detail-oriented individual that is dedicated to providing essential clerical support for our staff and families throughout Crawford County. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerk Typist 2, you will be tasked with a variety of moderately complex clerical support duties. Work involves typing and proofreading documents, processing requests from staff, preparing files, and obtaining necessary information for child case members on a daily basis. You will also be responsible for ensuring accurate data entry, maintaining case logs, as well as transcribing notes. Within this role, you may also have the opportunity to:

  • Coordinate meetings
  • Provide coverage at the reception desk
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Serve as back-up for other clerical staff

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 35 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Overtime may be required.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
  • Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
