Job Summary: A HR & Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the verification and maintenance of healthcare providers' credentials to ensure compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations. In addition to credentialing, this role will perform administrative work within the HRIS system. This role is pivotal in ensuring all practitioners are properly licensed, certified, and meet the required standards for practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credential Verification:
    • Review, authenticate, and verify all credentials, licenses, certifications, educational backgrounds, and work histories of healthcare providers.
    • Conduct primary source verifications from institutions like medical schools, licensing boards, and previous employers.
  • Application Processing:
    • Process applications for credentialing and recredentialing of staff, including psychologists and allied health professionals.
    • Ensure timely submission and renewal of all necessary documents to maintain provider eligibility.
  • Database Management:
    • Maintain and update databases with current provider information, tracking renewal dates for licenses and certifications.
    • Track time and attendance in HRIS system to ensure correct billable hours.
    • Approve and reject time off as approved by the program office.
  • Data Entry and Record Management:
    • Perform data entry tasks to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
    • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
  • Audit and Compliance:
    • Conduct timekeeping audits to verify the accuracy of employee time records.
    • Audit Paid Time Off (PTO) records to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Recruitment Support:
    • Assist in screening applicants by reviewing resumes and conducting initial interviews.
  • Communication:
    • Liaise with program office and providers to assist in the credentialing process, explain requirements, and address any discrepancies or issues.
    • Respond to inquiries from providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders regarding credential status or processes.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Participate in audits to ensure the integrity of credentialing processes.
    • Prepare reports and documentation for reviews and audits.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of administrative experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
    • Comfort with database management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
