A Brief Overview

The US LBM Manager of Technology Sourcing & Vendor Management is a strategic leader responsible for leading and driving sourcing strategies that support US LBM's enterprise technology goals. This role partners cross-functionally with Technology, Supply Chain, and Legal teams to negotiate complex agreements and build scalable supplier management processes. This person will have deep knowledge of the tech landscape, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to influence at all levels, including with top-tier providers like Microsoft, Oracle, and Salesforce. Focused on more than just cost savings, this role delivers long-term value through innovation, performance, and alignment with the company's technology roadmap.

What you will do
  • Design and implement short and long-term strategies, roadmap, and action plans for technology procurement process.
  • Work cross functionally with the Technology and Supply Chain teams to strategize, develop, and manage our supplier management process.
  • Define strategies for strategic supplier partnerships and serve as the primary negotiator for all software agreements.
  • Voice of reason and value during vendor negotiations, securing the best possible solutions, driving consistent terms and conditions across vendors.
  • Partner with the Legal team to ensure all agreements meet our expectations, track contracts for hardware, cloud, and telecom agreements.
  • Establish processes and applicable automation for tracking of software license usage and demand.
  • Leverage market research, understand industry trends, and manage supplier relationships to optimize procurement.
  • Balance cost savings with factors like company growth, performance, scalability, and future compatibility to drive the best decisions and outcomes.
  • Challenge the status quo and propose innovative sourcing approaches that contribute to our overall technology roadmap.
  • Proactively partners with stakeholders to understand spend, market, and industry characteristics.
  • Create a consistent vendor management process to be executed by sponsoring technology leadership team members covering periodic reviews, performance assessments, improvement opportunities, and understanding of spend.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Corporate Sourcing teams to ensure the alignment of strategies and priorities.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field.

Experience Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in software and technology sourcing, with 2+ years focused on technology sourcing with large suppliers preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • Skilled negotiator with a proven capability for driving the best relationships and contracts
  • Deep understanding of the tech landscape
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with market leading enterprise-scale ERP, CRM and Data management (eg. snowflake) platforms.
  • Experience with AI and data information rights
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a dynamic environment, effectively managing multiple priorities and drive key strategic initiatives.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and drive decisions at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across various functions.
  • A "roll-up-your-sleeves" mentality, with the ability to manage high-level strategy while diving into the details when needed.

Travel Requirements
  • 10% Travel expected.
