Job Description
The Lead Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist provides psychiatric rehabilitation with a recovery-oriented rehabilitation program model for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders. The Lead Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist provides supervision to MPRS staff and PRS staff and supports the Program Director with day-to-day oversight of program operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides supervision to MPRS staff and PRS staff monthly
- Support Director with day-to-day oversight of program operations
- Support with administrative tasks such as billing, managing staff schedules, group schedule, support with transition to fully E H R for both PRS and MPRS
- *Manages referrals and completing intakes for MPRS and PRS
- *Provide ongoing quality trainings - documentation of notes, treatment plans, daily sheets
- Maintain a caseload of participants
- Ensure timely documentation
- *Support Program Director with ongoing marketing of programming to promote growth
- Support Program Director with staffing, as needed.
- Integrates the PRISM MODEL FOR THE EFFECTIVE TREATMENT OF SERIOUS AND PERSISTENT MENTAL ILLNESS into everyday practice and clinical interventions with clients, applying best practice approaches to individual and group modalities.
- Provides individual and group activities, psycho educational groups, skill building opportunities on site and in the community that facilitate a recovery orientation and progress toward individual goals.
- Promotes community integration by assisting individuals to learn about and utilize community resources, accompanying participants individually or in groups to facilitate community participation.
- Provides linkages to resources in the community to assist individuals to achieve and maintain their chosen goals.
- Develops and maintains clinically informed, culturally sensitive, and therapeutically valid relationships with consumers.
- Practices principals of non-violent crisis prevention and intervention.
- Clinical documentation clearly reflects consumer preferences in assessment process, and goal formulation. Documentation clearly related to consumer-centered goals as specified in the Recovery Service Plan. Completes a readiness assessment, goal development and planning of service with each participant. The case record must include progress notes for each encounter in the community and each day on site.
- Performs all job-related duties and individual performance goals as assigned by Supervisor.
RELEVANT POST JOB OFFER TESTING/CONDITIONS
- 1. Knowledge and practice of Elwyn policies, regulations, and standards
- 2. Participates in Elwyn recommended trainings. Applies knowledge gained in training into work habits.
- 3. Meet all Elwyn requirements for criminal history checks. Able to safely operate a vehicle to provide individual/group transportation and has a state driver's license in good standing
- 4. Completion of a 12-hour orientation of Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles, values, and practice by a certified trainer within one year of hire or program start up.
- 5. Completion of 18 hours of approved psychiatric rehabilitation training per year.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: The lead psychiatric rehabilitation specialist shall have one of the following:
- A bachelor's degree and 2 years' work experience in mental health direct services, 1 year which must be work experience in PRS. CPRP certification must be attained within 2 years of hire, OR
- CPRP certification OR
- Must obtain CPRP certification within two (2) years
