The Department of Labor and Industry is searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 in the State Workers Insurance Fund Underwriting Division in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The primary responsibilities of this position will be receiving, creating, and entering information into the SMART system regarding new submissions/applications and providing this information to the underwriters for processing.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position the Clerical Assistant 2 will create new submissions from received applications in the SMART system and follow up with applicant (if necessary) via phone or email for missing or incorrect information. Composes letters and/or emails to the applicants and Brokers of Record requesting additional information including, but not limited to proper down payments, balances due on previous policies, additional forms, description of operations, and missing information. The Clerical Assistant 2 will respond to telephone calls, emails, and faxes from applicants and Brokers of Record regarding general questions about applications, forms, and rates for specific class codes and minimum premiums. Redirects checks received with applications to the accounting department for processing or attach to the application. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
