DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
In this position, you will engage in clerical-accounting tasks that apply bookkeeping principles within the Financial Office of South Mountain Restoration Center, a Long-Term Care Skilled Nursing Home Facility located in the scenic mountains near Michaux State Forest and operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Your duties will include assisting with open accounts payable to ensure timely payment processing and reducing Purchase Orders. Preparing payments for vendors through Advancement Accounts or Direct Charges, verify transaction accuracy by cross-referencing account orders, receiving reports, and invoices to identify any discrepancies. If discrepancies arise, you will communicate with vendors to resolve them. Additionally, you will enter invoices into the SAP system to generate checks, prepare and submit necessary documentation to the Comptroller's Office for audit purposes, and maintain accurate records of all transactions in the check register while updating the tracking system with payment information.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs
- Overtime as needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
- An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
