Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Surgical Technologist 2 to join the OR team. This role will be full-time working Three 12-hour shifts per week (0645-1915) M-F, variable day off, on-call requirement for nights, weekends, and holidays. Surgical Technologist 2 Job Responsibilities:
- The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the first scrub.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of aseptic and surgical technique.
- Demonstrates responsible behavior as a healthcare professional. Identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs.
- The Surgical Technologist 2 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts.
- Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, which includes passing instruments, sutures, and other items appropriate to the procedure.
- Serves as a resource in at least 2 specialty areas/procedures.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 1 years of Surgical Technologist experience or equivalent
- Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association required upon start.
- License: Registered Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required upon start
