My client, a reputable healthcare company in Virginia Beach, VA, is hiring for a Medical Receptionist! Job Description: * Normal day for the medical receptionist is answering phone calls, checking patients in and out (for audiology), and assisting patients with any questions that they may have. * They work tasks in the EHR systems (AllScripts and EPIC) such as scheduling appointments for patients, faxing orders into the system from providers or that they receive from patients, and handling requests from providers for patient information and records. * They will also be verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and updating demographics. * They get 40-50 referrals per day and the front desk staff goes into those tasks and schedules those patients. * They will also handle physical (paper) chart preps for the providers * Patient Volume: between 30-60 patients per day * Call volume: on busy days, it will ring all day. But 90% of the calls are referrals so if the referral coordinator is scanning them in and creating tasks for the receptionists to call, the incoming calls shouldn't be as high * Providers: There are only 2 providers and 1 audiologist at this site- some days there is 1 provider and 1 audiologists and some days 2 providers and 1 audiologist. Qualifications to Apply: * Must have EPIC experience * Someone who is self sufficient - can learn and work independently * Takes Initiative * Strong Customer Service experience * Great personality and able to get along with others * Professional communication * Able to multi-task between answering phones, checking patients in, and navigating through the systems * Computer savvy APPLY NOW!!!
