Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Superintendent to lead and manage on-site field operations for large-scale telecommunications installation projects. This role is responsible for supervising internal crews and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and serving as the primary on-site liaison for clients, general contractors, and inspectors. Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day field operations for telecommunications projects, including structured cabling, fiber optics, and voice/data installations. Oversee job site logistics including material deliveries, equipment usage, and labor allocation. Ensure all work complies with project specifications, industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA), and OSHA safety regulations. Lead a team of 40-50 internal technicians on enterprise-level projects. Conduct site inspections and enforce quality control across all infrastructure installations. Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, general contractors, and inspectors. Collaborate with project managers to track progress, update schedules, and forecast labor and material needs. Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, timesheets, and job progress reports. Troubleshoot and resolve technical and personnel issues in the field. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in telecommunications or structured cabling, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or superintendent role. 2+ years of experience supervising field operations for telecommunications projects. 2+ years of experience managing job site logistics (materials, equipment, labor). 2+ years of experience setting up and installing splice trays and terminating fiber. Experience working with fiber bundles of 144+ pairs. 2+ years of experience testing fiber using OTDR. 2+ years of experience working with a fiber matrix. Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and riser diagrams. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Proficient with cable testing equipment (e.g., Fluke, OTDR). Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or technical certification in telecommunications or related field. BICSI Installer 2, Technician, or RCDD Certification. OSHA 30 Certification. CPR/First Aid Certification. PMP certification or construction management coursework. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
