*Description*
Primary responsibilities of the Database Administrator include supporting database operations including but not limited to performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. The candidate will be responsible for operating in Oracle, Exadata, and SQL Server platforms and supporting database re-platforming efforts to include proper database sizing estimates. They will be responsible for creating database objects, investigating performance issues, table partitioning strategies and setup and monitoring data retention. They will work closely with data architects, data analysts, and database owners to support work requests related to performance monitoring, query optimization, code deployments, access management, and database analysis. The candidate must have strong technical and communication skills coupled with the ability to convey their findings and recommendations to large groups. Responsibilities * Working knowledge of how to investigate and optimize SQL queries in SQL Server and Oracle/Exadata environments. * Monitoring of database performance to include, but not limited to, memory usage, proper backups, active sessions, long-running queries, tablespace configuration, and space allocations. * Coordinate with data architects and analysts on creating schemas, tables (including partitioning), functions, views, stored procedures, database access and roles. * Coordination with the automation team for the scheduling of database. * Write scripts to enable DBA specific processing and monitoring. * Complete routine database administration efforts as defined by the team DBA Lead. * Attend Oncor DBA team meetings and follow Oncor standard DBA practices as defined by the Oncor DBA Function Lead. * Runbook documentation to support DBA processes setup. * Knowledge on Hybrid Columnar Compression (HCC) and Advanced Compression is a plus. * Implementing and managing centralized database operations at the Container Database (CDB) level. Qualifications * 3+ years of physical DBA experience, including experience across Oracle, SQL Server, Exadata, Postgres, Microsoft Access database servers. * Working knowledge of all aspects of Database Data Movement and Processing. * Familiarity with JIRA workflow processes and Agile methodology. * Working experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, DBeaver, TOAD, or Oracle SQL Developer. * Good Communication skills. * Self-Motivated. * Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize tasks as required by demand. * Capable of presenting to all levels of audiences. * Works well in a team environment. * Experience with Hadoop/MongoDB a plus. * Experience with MDM methodology and tools a plus. * Cloud experience a plus. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
