Washington County's
Department of Land Use and Transportation (LUT) is currently hiring a Project Manager to join their Operations and Maintenance (OPS) Division!
The Position
The project manager is an essential part of our team that assists with delivering maintenance projects and managing contracts. This work is essential to keeping our transportation system in optimal condition. Project managers are involved with the administration, planning, design, and construction of infrastructure maintenance projects throughout Washington County. These projects include paving, striping, storm sewer maintenance, landscaping, emergency repairs, and road reconstruction. The project manager helps define the project scope and assess potential risks to successful delivery. Other duties include budget development, scheduling and monitoring expenditures. Successful candidates will be required to coordinate with a variety of professionals, technicians, contractors, stakeholders, agencies and citizens. The project manager will investigate field problems and assist with finding solutions before, during and after construction.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position will be experienced in managing transportation infrastructure maintenance projects including paving, striping, drainage, landscaping, emergency repairs, and road reconstruction. Candidate will be knowledgeable of advanced project management skills and techniques such as scheduling, resource management, communications, and organization. Ideal candidate requires very little direct supervision and is able to prioritize several competing interests effectively. This position requires working closely with a wide range of people including technicians, engineers, contractors and the public. Ideal candidate will have experience interacting with all of these stakeholders and understand their roles in project development and project delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Education and Experience
- Four (4) years of professional project management experience that includes leading and managing discrete projects from initiation and planning through closure and evaluation; OR
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, surveying, environmental, transportation planning, public administration or a closely related field may substitute for three years of experience, AND one (1) year of professional project management experience that includes leading and managing discrete projects from initiation and planning through closure and evaluation; OR
- An Oregon Project Management Associate (OPMA) certification, AND three (3) years of professional project management experience that includes leading and managing discrete projects from initiation and planning through closure and evaluation; OR
- A Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
