IT Chief Operating Officer – (job location is New York, NY; employer is Banco Santander, S.A.) - Oversee and optimize technology operations for Santander U.S. Corporate and Investment Banking, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. Cover key functions including: Compliance, IT Risk, Reporting and Metrics, Regulatory Program, IT Strategy and Planning, Operational Efficiency, Vendor and Contract Management, Budgeting and Financial Oversight, Team Leadership and Development, IT Chief of Staff, Business Continuity, Application Portfolio Management, and Enterprise Portfolio Management Office. Manage team of technology business management and risk analysts. Requirements: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology and Management, plus 2 years of experience in the position offered or a Business Control & Risk Management position in investment banking sector. All of the required experience must have included: developing and executing information technology (IT) strategies and solutions for cross-technology areas (including infrastructure, information security, and chief technology operations) aligned with investment banking business functions (markets, banking, equities); identifying, assessing, and managing operational and technology risks for a bank; ensuring IT strategies align with SOX, NYDFS and other regulatory and compliance standards for financial institutions; overseeing budgets, cost management and financial forecasting for IT operations; negotiating vendor contracts and maintaining strategic relationships with technology partners; mentoring, building, and retaining IT talent; utilizing Agile or Waterfall frameworks to deliver projects on time and within budget; setting up metrics, KPIs and dashboards to track and report IT performance; and managing IT crises, incident responses, disaster recovery planning and business continuity and management. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time to attend industry conferences, trainings, and corporate meetings at home office in Madrid, Spain. #LI-DNI This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our New York City office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location.
