The Role:

The Indirect Global Commodity Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives for key Indirect goods and services spend categories across ETS locations and at Spirax group level. This role involves working closely with local and Spirax Group procurement teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement global strategies that ensure the best value. By fostering collaboration across regional and group sites, the Indirect Global Commodity Manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing indirect spend and driving significant cost reductions while enhancing overall procurement efficiency.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for key spend categories to achieve best value, quality and service to support the requirements of the stakeholders and business.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvement plans as necessary.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, supply chain risks, and emerging technologies to inform sourcing decisions and strategies.
  • Cost Management: Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction. Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or supply reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and finance teams to ensure alignment of sourcing strategies with business needs.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk mitigation plans to address potential supply disruptions.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sourcing strategies and supplier performance.
  • Sustainability: Promote sustainable sourcing practices and ensure compliance with environmental and social responsibility standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field or relevant experience (10+ years in related fields)
  • 8 + years demonstrated experience in Operations or Supply Chain Management
  • Experience in effectively managing an international team with both direct and indirect reporting structures
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP/MRP with the understanding and implementation of Lean practices
  • APICS or ISM certification preferred (CPIM, CPSM, CIRM)
  • Ability to create and sustain commitment to change and continuous improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and project management software programs
  • JD Edwards experience preferred
  • Cognos reporting experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel: 10 - 20%
