Broward County's Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau (Visit Lauderdale) is looking for an experienced services leader to build, manage, and inspire a new Destination Services team. Overall, the position will support the group sales, sports sales, and special events sales efforts through maintaining positive relationships with local industry partners, connecting meeting planners with local resources, and working to improve the customer experience within Broward County. Further, this position will plan and execute specific events or parts of events.

This position will be responsible for a team of in-house staff focused on in-market servicing of groups booked through Visit Lauderdale's sales efforts. These events can vary from small, single facility events to large city-wide conventions. Developing strategy, implementing effective systems and procedures, delivering on service promises, and empowering staff through leadership and support are necessary abilities for the successful candidate.

This position serves as a primary day-to-day point of contact for industry partners (hotels, attractions, restaurants, retail, etc.), and as such serves as one of the most visible members of the team.

This position will be responsible for planning and executing events both large and small. For example, Broward County will be hosting IPW 2026 and this position will be responsible for planning major components of that event. The successful candidate will have experience planning and executing complex, large-scale conferences and/or events.

Management functions in this position include building and leading a team, participating in the development of the department's annual budget and annual strategies, planning and communicating purchases and other administrative needs in advance, and communicating the department's successes and opportunities regularly with the appropriate upper management.

Servicing events and conventions is a dynamic function; the appropriate candidate will be willing and able to easily adapt to and implement last-minute changes.

Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM (Simpleview or similar), Cvent, EmpowerMINT, LinkedIn.
