Job Description |
Applies working electrical and mechanical knowledge to operate and perform routine maintenance on various electronic ballistics measuring and firing safety devices and their peripheral equipment. Provides operations and preventative maintenance on various electronic measuring and data acquisition systems, to include but not limited to, system setup, electrical instrumentation, tear-down, and transportation throughout Yuma Proving Ground (YPG). Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. Mentors junior technicians. May provide guidance to teams of technicians. Reverse engineer and improve electronics and firing systems with little to no documentation. Develops training documentation and provides guidance on operations and maintenance of the Ballistics section instrumentation systems. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. |
Qualifications |
Pay Rate:$37.65
Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:
*Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
*Must have one of the following: Ten (10) years related experience, OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of directly related experience, OR an Associate's degree / Military training in a related field and 5 years related experience.
*Experience using test equipment like multi-meters and oscilloscopes.
Job Skills Requirements:
*Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
*Must be proficient with hand tools.
*Knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design, characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic measuring and data acquisition systems.
*Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision.
*Capable of using test equipment and schematics for troubleshooting.
*Design or modify electronic firing systems.
*Develop schematics and operations manuals
*Perform post data reduction & system maintenance.
Physical Requirements:
*Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
*Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
*Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and standing.
*Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
*Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Ballistics Section.

*Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
*Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
*Experience with gun and rocket firing systems.
*Experience with acoustic munition scoring systems.
Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:
*Must be a U.S. Citizen.
*Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
*Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
