Department Summary The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for Adjunct Instructor openings for the academic year 2025-26. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching. UNT Dallas offers faculty the unique opportunity to help shape the character of a 21st century, learner-focused, urban comprehensive university. Position Overview The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Your application cannot be considered until all required documents have been received. Please note that adjunct faculty are limited to teaching two courses per semester. Minimum Qualifications A Master of Fine Arts degree, or a degree from a related field. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The Music Appreciation Adjunct Instructor should have in-depth knowledge of the history, styles, and cultural impact of American music, including genres such as jazz, blues, gospel, folk, country, rock, hip-hop, and classical traditions. They must be skilled in delivering engaging, student-centered instruction to non-music majors, with the ability to explain musical concepts and historical context in accessible terms. Strong communication, student-centered teaching practices, and the effective use of multimedia and digital tools are essential.
