Your Team, Your Impact

Marvell's Compute and Custom Solutions organization (CCS) is looking for a talented senior ASIC architect/engineer to join our architecture team. This team acts as the central technical interface to our datacenter clients. It is responsible for the overall technology choice, silicon partitioning strategy, IP definition and selection and architectural guidance of datacenter products (SmartNIC, servers, AI accelerators and switches, mainly) for the main hyperscalers and companies worldwide. We actively participate in the definition of next generation datacenter products with our clients and respond to their ASIC RFQs. Role spans engagement with both customers and internal technology teams to define the best solution to the custom product needs and includes all functions required to build, test and manufacture an advanced custom silicon System in a Package.

What You Can Expect

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Engaging with customers, engineering, and marketing to lead chip architecture of innovative and complex datacenter products
  • Specifying IP and technology requirements, and working with Central Engineering to drive their development
  • Identifying the best silicon partitioning, IP selection, packaging technology
  • Taking on leadership roles for a broad spectrum of tasks needed to prepare solutions to customer problems and asks
  • Mapping Marvell solutions into highly effective presentations and sharing with customers
  • Identifying early patterns in the requests for future products and using this insight to help drive technology investment at Marvell and/or with our partners
  • Overseeing and coordinating IP evaluation, IP block microarchitecture, pinouts, cost estimates, and power estimates
  • Communicating and coordinating with other business units in Marvell on internal IP and sharing/leveraging capabilities and knowledge
  • Presenting trainings to peers, helping develop the team, and mentoring other architects/engineers
  • Continuous self-development and training to keep up with current and next generation data center architectures and requirements.
  • Representing Marvell at conferences and industry events to help share/promote our brand and capabilities

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 10+ years of related professional experience. Or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 8+ years of experience. Or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5+ years of experience.

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in system architecture development or in ASIC architectures or in IP/technology development and related fields
  • Experience with microarchitecture specifications, SoC architectures, on-die NoCs, networking protocols and/or software engineering are a plus
  • Experience/knowledge with/of system architectures for datacenter products strongly appreciated
  • Experience building a custom ASIC from architecture through to post silicon validation a valuable advantage
  • Demonstrated technical leadership delivering complex silicon solutions.
  • Excellent presence in front of the customer and ability to present complex technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

177,380 - 265,700, $ per annum

The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
