Aon is currently seeking a Business Development Specialist I to impact direct new business growth at Aon Affinity and help redefine how companies and clients deal with insurance online.

This position has the capability to be either hybrid or virtual, anywhere in the United States.

This position focuses on educating clients on risk and insurance products, submitting and brokering business, presenting and closing opportunities and servicing accounts. You will receive a competitive base salary and have the chance to earn performance bonuses based on your individual and team performance. This role is fast-paced and an ideal fit for goal-oriented, hardworking individuals looking to make a difference. KPIs/Metrics are shared transparently across the team.

What the day will look like:

  • Meets personal and team sales targets as established focusing on small to mid-size accounts which are stalbe in nature within identified markets
  • Contacts assigned healthcare prospects to sell multiple product units by nature of clients
  • Reviews client's business and financial data to ascertain whether products meet the client's needs and circumstances
  • Negotiate terms with internal and external underwriting staff
  • Prepares sales presentations, contracts and proposals subject to review by manager
  • Receives periodic coaching from manager or more experienced professionals

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • P&C license is preferred, or must obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Insurance sales, prospecting and relationship management experience
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry
  • Has excellent written and verbal/listening skills
  • Focuses on consultative interactions with individuals representing small to mid-size firms
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Embraces technology improvements to help you think outside of the box

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $50,000 to $60,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's incentive plans to receive production incentives in addition to base salary. The amount of any production incentives varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
