DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Human Resource Analyst 1, you will strive to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to centralized hiring activities that align with policy and processes. This is an exciting opportunity to provide consultative support to the PDE and DOS program areas regarding posting options for vacant positions, as well as researching and evaluating all available data to develop appropriate strategies to establish an optimal candidate pool. You will be responsible for creating requests for vacant positions and facilitating the complete hiring process. Work also involves generating custom reports, assisting with compliment management, and maintaining a list of appropriate budget funding for the agency. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, uploading, certifying, and purging documents in the electronic official personnel files (e-OPF) for all employees
  • Providing consultative support to agency managers, supervisors, and human resource (HR) liaisons regarding the proper development and maintenance of position descriptions
  • Responding to HR inquiries
  • Serving as the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) coordinator
  • Preparing and Submitting purchasing requests

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Office locations:
    • 607 South Drive, Harrisburg PA 17120, and
    • 1423 Labor & Industry Building, 651 Boas Street, Harrisburg PA 17121
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Human Resource Management Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year as a Human Resource Assistant 2 or an Equal Opportunity Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of paraprofessional analytical experience and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
