Your Role: As a Cook I, you'll be instrumental in crafting delicious dishes while prioritizing food safety. From gourmet meals to campus favorites, you'll utilize a variety of cooking skills and equipment to deliver exciting and fun dining experiences. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Prepares food on the cold production lines.
- Prepares all order items according to the order slip and adhering to recipe's method of preparation.
- Follows correct food storage and safety guidelines.
- Maintains quality and freshness of products at all times.
- Actively solves problems wherever possible.
- Correct storage of food items in designated areas, and use of FIFO method.
- Weighs, labels and dates all food items, stores in designated areas.
- Cleans countertop, Plexi-glass windows, walls, shelves, drain screens and floor mats.
- Sends all utensils to be washed and when returned - checks to see that all utensils are properly stored.
- Empties sanitizer and takes out trash.
- Correct labeling, weighing, dating, and use of all food products.
- Greets and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Provides suggestions and input to supervisor.
- Utilizes hair coverings and gloves at all times while working in kitchen.
- Cooks food in the oven and on the grills as needed.
- Prevents cross contamination of food products.
- Ensure clean work surfaces, Plexi-glass, walls, shelves, sinks and floors.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of job content, practices and procedures.
- Ability to transport and/or move a maximum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to multi-task under stressful situations.
Physical requirements:
- Lift/transport or move a maximum of 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications |
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report |
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
