POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr Manager of Manufacturing Excellence - Focused Improvement & Rapid Improvement Team Lead is responsible to support the acceleration of results across the factories through the application of Problem Solving Methodologies from Basic to Advanced (GSTD to DMAIC Black Belt). The role also leads and develops a Rapid Improvement Team that is deployed to selected factories to accelerate their result generation and/or transformation through the application of Problem Solving and IP tools and methodologies. This role acts as the center of expertise for Focused Improvement and Improvement Project Management. The role also manages the identification, collection and reapplication of best practices in manufacturing. As the center of expertise the role is responsible to build competency in Focused Improvement Methodologies across NUSA Technical & Production.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:
Leads Competence definition and development for Focused Improvement in NUSA T&P 1 - Builds methodology for focused problem solving across various complexity levels from GSTD to advanced DMAIC using Six Sigma and other analytical tools
2 - Defines strategy to build problem solving competency and governance (DMAIC belts)
3 - Trains and coaches problem solving competency across NUSA T&P aligned with development plans and business needs
4 - Partner with Category ME Directors to ensure adherence to competency building plan for Corporate and Factory key resources (ME, Production Managers, Factory Managers, etc) in terms of problem solving skills
5 - Manages governance to track advanced problem solving projects status and related skills across NUSA T&P

Leads Rapid Improvement Team
1 - Leads and develops the Rapid Improvement Team for NUSA T&P with direct reports (ME Experts Rapid Improvement) and indirectly ME Experts from the Category Support
2 - Aligns with ME Directors, VPM's and FM's where the Rapid Improvement Team is deployed including definition of scope of work, deliverables, targets, etc. 3 - Ensures competency development of the Rapid Improvement Team in the areas of IP tool kit, line and labor studies, capacity and line bottleneck studies, problem solving skills, analytical skills
3 - Determines correct use of data and systems to support identification of issues and root causes (Loss Intelligence, Power BI, global systems/SAP, DMO, etc.)
4 - Coaches leaders in T&P on problem solving and analytical methods and supports high quality of LTA/IPA across the sites

Leads/runs complex Focused Improvement Problem Solving projects
1 - Acts as the leader of problem solving projects with complex scope that require advanced problem solving skills and techniques and the use of advanced analytical tools
2 - Uses DMAIC Black Belt methodology to address complex problems across NUSA T&P including SixSigma, CPQ, etc. 3 - Coaches and advises functions across NUSA T&P in terms of the right problem solving approach and helps in selecting problem solving project leaders and members based on their competence

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors Degree required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Factory experience (10+ years), preferable acting as Factory ME Manager or Production / Maintenance Manager.
  • Experience (10+ years) working with factory management/leadership team
  • Strong Practical experience in leading and coaching TPM/Autonomy Practices (FI, GA,TPM,Lean - 10+ years), preferably experience in several pillars.
  • Successfully lead and develop cross-functional teams.
  • Project Management experience (+5 years)
  • Strong leadership in cultural change management & managing multiple complex priorities and business connections with direct and indirect stakeholders
  • Experience working with senior management
  • Experience in delivering comprehensive trainings across multiple levels of the organization

SKILLS:

  • Advanced knowledge of theory and application of NCE (TPM / LEAN)
  • Advanced Problem Solving capabilities (Master Black Belt Required) including advanced statistical tools
  • Strong understanding of Change Management
  • Strong competence on Continuous Improvement Guide (CIG) and the Organization Structure (OS) framework for Manufacturing
  • Strong competence of key Standards (St. 21-908, etc.)
  • Project Management competence
  • Understanding of Basic Finance & Value Creation
  • Knowledge of key data systems (SAP, NSAM, etc.) & digital technologies to drive results
  • Strong competence in application of Leadership Development principles
