The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters is looking to hire a Payroll Special for an opening on our HR team. The right candidate will be someone who is very detail-oriented, possesses a high level of integrity, and is able to handle very confidential information.

This is a Seasonal, up to 35 hour per week position duration approximately 2 months not to last longer than 90 days.

Essential Functions



  1. Assists Payroll Specialist with weekly Bell Ringer payroll processing during the Christmas season.
  2. Works with HR team to ensure Bell Ringer hire packets are complete and accurate.
  3. Responsible for entering Bell Ringer new hires and rehires into payroll system.
  4. Enters weekly Bell Ringer bonuses into pay batch for each payroll cycle.
  5. Calculates manual checks for finance to cut live checks on as-needed basis.
  6. Assist Payroll Specialist with creating and distributing weekly payroll reports to finance and Corps as needed.
  7. Enter garnishments and child support orders into payroll system as needed.
  8. Provide information as requested for HR, Finance, Officers, and Corps.
  9. Assist locations with payroll/paycheck issues when necessary.

We are seeking an individual with a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent that is very detail orientated, pays close attention to detail, and is very computer literate. This position will be processing a high volume of Seasonal hires. The position can be on site, or option to be remote for the right candidate.
