Internship Summary:

  • This is a 10 Week Summer Internship Program starting on May 26, 2026, and ending July 31, 2026.
  • CSX provides optional intern housing for the duration of the 10-week program, as long as the selected intern meets eligibility criteria

  • Competitive hourly pay

  • Up to 5% travel

  • The Summer Internship Program will include: cross-functional learning, local onsite visits, Executive networking sessions, lunch & learn, and more

Primary Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with multiple departments (Locomotive Management, Mechanical Car/Locomotive and Transportation) to support the CSX Network while also providing reliable mechanical equipment.

  • Assist with monitoring and reporting locomotive utilization across the CSX Network.

  • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Logistics or a related major field of study from an accredited institution.

  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Anticipated graduation within a year after the end of the internship

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Written and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

  • Analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to independently manage assignments

  • Ability to communicate effectively and build working relationships at all levels of an organization

Job Requirements:

  • Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non- standard workweek)

  • Communicate effectively with senior leadership/executive audiences

  • Work within established deadlines

  • Willing and able to work days and hours as assigned

  • Successfully complete a background check and drug test

Environmental Conditions:

  • Work in an office environment

  • 5% Travel
