Essential Functions: This position is responsible for the following tasks, duties and responsibilities: Reviews assigned jobs and corresponding due dates, scheduling workloads. Programs jobs ahead of time per load requirements. Understands functions and concepts of die design in order to foresee and correct problems. Documents all pertinent information in the CAD then files for easy retrieval to reproduce the part as needed. Works with other employees to complete jobs. Excels in communication with designers and toolmakers. Also is an important part in deciding how tool will be produced efficiently and cost effectively. Solves problems (i.e., trouble with setting up block or creating new program). Innovative in programming and set-ups. Must be a resource for other programmers and Set-up personnel. Trains others and serves as role model and mentor to other CNC programmers. Ability to program complex 3D's and/or 5 axis programs as needed, using preferable toolpaths for optimal part finish and efficiency. Maintains and updates GibbsCam processes. Ability to create hard milling programs using high speed machining toolpaths for optimal part finishes and tool life. Ability to modify existing part programs for part revisions, verifying the updated changes. Assumes responsibility for Renishaw Probe, Tool set pot, Tool presetter and diagnostic calibrations of the equipment, where applicable. Ability to help out with designing or detailing when required. Must have knowledge of MacroB programs and the ability to modify and maintain them, as well as create new programs. Has the ability to provide programming and CNC times to the quoting department. Possesses the skills needed for Microsoft Word Visual Basic macro creation and maintenance. Is able to perform CNC controller parameter backups, as well as other controller and parameter maintenance. Understands function of the DNC software. Must be able to setup or remove ports for machines as needed for RS232 communications. Performs all duties in a safe manner, complying with the safety rules and regulations. Maintains a safe and clean work area. Uses Axapta software programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience and Skills Required: At least five years of recent related mechanical and shop experience, of which a minimum of four years must be related to the EDM/CNC field and two years of BTD related experience which includes the following skills and abilities: Strong working knowledge of the tooling process and EDM/CNC machinery. Working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in production tooling operations, which leads to efficient decision making whether to use a manual or CNC operation to be most productive to a specific application. Strong working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in production tooling operations. Ability to solve problems. Strong knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions. Must be able to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions. Highly self-disciplined and efficient. Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. The qualifications listed above are guidelines. Compensation Hourly Range: OTC10: $32.68 - $49.04 per hour. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
