JOB SUMMARY The Divisional Senior Manager of Planned Giving Stewardship provides strategic direction and vision for all stewardship, engagement, and marketing initiatives of the North and Central Illinois (NCI) planned giving unit. This role is responsible for creating, developing and executing long-term and annual stewardship plans that align with The Salvation Army's mission and fundraising goals. The Senior Manager ensures the stability, satisfaction, growth, and sustainability of all NCI planned giving stewardship programs across the division. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Direction & Planning
- Lead the development, creation, and implementation of comprehensive stewardship strategies for all current existing planned giving partnerships.
- Collaborate with all planned giving directors to align planned giving prospect activities with divisional stewardship priorities and mission impact.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of regular annual and multi-year stewardship donor engagement plans with measurable goals and performance indicators.
- Communications
- Steward planned giving relationships at all levels year round to maintain donor loyalty to the organizational mission.
- Guide the Planned Giving team in developing tailored stewardship strategies for new prospects and existing bequest donors.
- Ensure robust communications and recognition programs that enhance donor bequest retention and satisfaction.
- Manage the contents, design, and production of planned giving donor newsletters, websites, collateral materials, social media, email communications, and other marketing efforts.
- Gather stories for department use with donors.
- Donor Engagement
- Manage the gift acknowledgement process for planned giving donors.
- Arrange donor visits to TSA programs.
- Oversee planned giving donor events such as Hope Brigade, Red Shield Symposium, etc.
- Track performance and effectiveness of planned giving marketing efforts by accurately capturing and recording data. Develop, produce, and analyze reports that will enable the planned giving department to identify new prospect pools, refine ongoing marketing practices and improve return on investment.
- Coordinate large volume acquisition, stewardship, and solicitation mailings for planned giving donors and prospects and ensure proper entry of those actions and responses in Salesforce.
- Team Support
- Provide administrative stewardship support to the Sr. Director of Gift & Estate Planning, DHQ Planned Giving Directors, and assist other Development Department staff as directed.
- Collaborate with planned giving staff to update internal systems and processes to improve workflow and provide better customer stewardship service to donors, prospects, and other constituents.
- Keep track of/order department supplies and donor collateral.
- Update and electronically store/organize department digital files and forms.
- Cross Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between the planned giving department and other internal teams (Marketing, finance etc.)
- Partner with regional, divisional and territorial leadership to support all planned giving stewardship strategies as needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Education: Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience: A minimum of two years' experience in a non-profit organization.

- An interpersonal style that builds significant relationships with both current and potential donors.
- Advanced understanding of resource development systems, especially in Major and Planned Gifts, as well as the professional knowledge necessary to achieve department objectives.

- This individual must be able to travel to meet potential and current donors.
