The Senior Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Lead will serve as the technical lead for the client's Budget and Spend (BAS) Solution. This role ensures that the solution architecture, integration, development, and technical configurations align with Federal financial management requirements and the client's enterprise environment. The SME/Lead will partner with functional SMEs, program leadership, and client stakeholders to deliver a robust, sustainable, and secure solution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of SAP-based BAS solutions for large and complex Federal implementations.
- Provide comprehensive technical oversight of SAP architecture, integration, design, and system documentation.
- Develop and enforce quality technical design standards, version control, and configuration management processes.
- Implement and manage web services and interfaces integrating BAS with SAP ECC, SAP S4/HANA, and other financial systems.
- Build and maintain data loads, ensuring consistent reporting of actuals with budgeting modules.
- Develop and oversee automation and job scheduling processes to streamline operations.
- Create and execute technical test plans, including unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Support client-led Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), resolving technical issues and documenting results.
- Provide expertise in integrating legacy data sources, including BSF, AMP, FMMI, and other custom or homegrown systems.
- Ensure system enhancements and integrations maintain compatibility with client enterprise standards.
- Deliver post-production technical support, including hyper-care and Tier 2 support, to sustain operations.
- Collaborate with functional SMEs and client technical points of contact to validate and implement requirements.
- Conduct technical walkthroughs, code reviews, and configuration knowledge transfer sessions to build internal client capacity.
- Support training and documentation of technical procedures for long-term solution sustainability.
Qualifications
- Senior-level knowledge and skills in designing, developing, testing and maintaining SAP products and CFO Control Tower BAS solutions for large and complex implementations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of SAP architecture, integration, design, testing, and program documentation.
- Prior experience with job automation and scheduling, creating data loads to ensure consistent reporting of actual with budgeting modules.
- Desired experience with integrate legacy data source, to including BSF, AMP, FMMI and other custom/home grown systems.
- Senior-level experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining SAP products and BAS/CFO Control Tower solutions in Federal environments.
- Strong expertise in SAP architecture, system integration, design, testing, and documentation.
- Demonstrated experience implementing web services to SAP ECC/S4 HANA or similar Federal financial systems.
- Experience with job automation, scheduling, and creating data loads for financial reporting.
- Desired: Experience integrating legacy data sources such as BSF, AMP, FMMI, or similar custom systems.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills to guide development teams and interface with client stakeholders.

- Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience.
- Must be able to clear a federal background investigation - Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
