Tectonic is seeking experienced, full-time Assistant Resident Engineers to support our growing Water Resources Group on upcoming NYCDEP water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Hudson Valley!


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Ensure timely receipt and organization of contractor documentation in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain project status reports, progress updates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Track and manage project drawings, revisions, and documentation workflows.
  • Verify that Change Orders and Time & Material work are properly recorded in Daily Inspector Reports.
  • Draft and review change orders for completeness and compliance with contract terms.
  • Attend construction progress meetings and prepare meeting minutes and monthly reports.
  • Support oversight of sub-consultants through effective coordination and communication.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer in monitoring construction schedules and identifying potential delays.
  • Contribute to project close-out efforts, including As-Built drawings, final documentation, and resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support successful project delivery.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Must possess BS Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Construction Technology or an acceptable field;
  • A minimum of 5 years of construction experience; experience as an Office Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer on infrastructure projects preferred;
  • Must have a strong understanding of construction contracts, codes, and regulatory requirements;
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies;
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills;
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task;
  • Proficiency with E-Builder, Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera, or related construction software;
  • Requires a valid, clean driver's license and personal vehicle to travel to and within project sites as needed.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


While performing the essential functions of this position, it is frequently necessary to:


  • Assume a stationary position;
  • Handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job;
  • Communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients using Company email and telephone systems;
  • Occasionally move around on the job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning oneself appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment, usually for prolonged periods of time,
  • Lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections occasionally as needed,
  • Good visual skills, including focused depth perception for performing inspections, and
  • Occasional daily operation of a motor-vehicle or use of public transportation, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.


Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or Company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer, as well as other related office machinery, such as calculators, printers, and copy machines. PAY RANGE


Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.


Pay Range: $110,000 - $150,000 / year
