The U.S. Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has awarded $15 million to establish the Advancing Standardization in Critical and Emerging Technologies (ASCET) Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting U.S. engagement in international standardization for Critical and Emerging Technologies (CETs). Led by ASTM International, ASCET will drive collaboration between industry, government, and academia to accelerate CET standardization, aligning with the U.S. Government National Standards Strategy for Critical and Emerging Technologies (USG NSSCET) and broader U.S. standardization goals. The Collaborative Pilot Programs Manager will be responsible for launching and managing pre-standardization, standardization, and post-standardization initiatives within the CET ecosystems that address the crucial needs of standards acceleration, workforce capacity development, standards development, standards industrialization, broad information dissemination, and performance metrics assessment. These initiatives must be coordinated among other ASCET staff leaders, particularly the Education & Workforce Development Manager and the Marketing and Communications Manager, to achieve ASCET's desired objectives of developing, implementing, accelerating, and industrializing standards within CETs through U.S. private sector-driven engagement and capacity building among industry, academia, government, and standards development organizations. This role is critical to ASCET's capabilities to launch programs in pre-standardization/standardization network building and workforce capacity development, among other initiatives, which reside at the backbone of the Center of Excellence's mission and point directly toward accelerating U.S. competitiveness in the CET marketplaces. In general, the role will be an integral part of a team that develops standardization program, education and workforce development, and knowledge transfer activities to support the growth and organizational objectives of the SCoE. The role will benefit from having a reasonable understanding of CETs such as Advanced Manufacturing, Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Semiconductors, amongst many others. The role will also engage regularly with communities of various CETs, formulating strategies and plans to further position the work of the SCoE within the global technological ecosystem. Please note some travel will be required for this position (approximately 15-20%). Minimum Qualifications
