- Responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
- Within parameters, routing and arrangements for shipments are determined, considering factors such as the nature of shipped items, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost.
- Consults the rate schedule for specific rates depending on the method of shipment and the distance shipped.
- Assesses the most economical and efficient common or contract carrier to transport shipments.
- Calculates and records storage, redelivery, and other applicable charges.
- Reroute urgent shipments of an urgent nature or arrange for special delivery at the destination.
- Prepares and maintains records of products shipped and tracks shipments.
- Receives incoming materials, unpacks, and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
- Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
- Maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents.
- Stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
- Perform wood shop functions such as operating power saws and nail guns in building skids and crates.
- Developing support for individual contributors.
- Works under general supervision.
- Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures.
- Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.
- Less detailed instructions are provided, and moderate peer review is needed.
- Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach an agreement.
- Follows established processes to complete tasks.
- Escalates issues to the supervisor for resolution.
- Works to achieve operational targets within the job area, which impacts the overall achievement of results for the team.
- Work is somewhat limited in scope, typically on smaller, less structured task-related activities.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with at least 4 years of experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in packing.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an MRP.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Associate Degree.
- Computer skills.
- Knowledge of receiving practices and Transportation knowledge for setting up and processing Domestic and International shipments.
- Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
- Manufacturing Environment.
- Control MRP or other MRP experience.
- Teamwork.
- Self-starter/works independently.
- Good communication skills.
- ESD Training.
