Responsibilities
 
 ,This NPI Product Engineer position will be located in our Plant 3 - Whitehall Casting Operation and will support new product introduction projects, manufacturing through process control, improvement initiatives, and assume direct responsibility for integrity for assigned products. This position will also establish and maintain external & internal customer associate documents; prepare part-specific work instructions; maintain knowledge of job cost; and develop/implement appropriate plans to improve profitability. Job Responsibilities 
  
 Plans and formulates NPI engineering programs within area of assigned responsibilityImplements and reviews process design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements and related specificationsSupports activities concerned with technical development, customer issues, cost reduction programs and in resolving engineering design and test problemsEvaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releasesPrepares interim and completion project report, as necessaryProvides technical support for assigned coating, brazing and/or manufacturing area of assignmentInterfaces with production personnel regarding all processing requirements and interacts with suppliers and customers on technical issuesPerforms process quality investigations as requiredDevelops and implements process improvements and cost reductionsDesigns tools and fixtures pertinent to processingGenerates material requisitions to initiate procurementTranslates customer requirements into usable work instructions and interface with customer on technical issuesReviews purchase orders, specifications and blueprints for impactAssembles data packages for customer approvalSpecifies processing and generates work instructionsActively pursues elimination of waste, the improvement of equipment reliability and efficiency, and the reduction of operating costs and employs statistical methods as necessaryContinuously improves the performance of job-related responsibilities

Qualifications
 
 ,Basic Qualifications: 
  
 Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institutionEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
 Preferred Qualifications: 
  
 Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution in the following disciplines preferred: Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or IndustrialExperience working in a Casting environmentPrevious internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment or lab environmentStrong verbal, written, and analytical skillsKnowledge of MS OfficeAble to work in a self-directed or team environment and have good organizational skillsKnowledge of Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and scientific methods for problem solving
