Role Summary
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Associated Bank, you'll play a key role in designing, automating, and maintaining our private cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.

You'll partner closely with application developers to accelerate testing, release, and deployment processes while ensuring reliability and scalability. This is a great opportunity to lead through mentorship, shape technical direction, and help modernize our infrastructure environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage private cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.

  • Automate deployment and configuration processes using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and connectivity issues to maintain service continuity.

  • Monitor system capacity, utilization, and performance; recommend enhancements for optimization.

  • Manage hardware and software inventory, maintaining accurate network diagrams and documentation.

  • Support business continuity initiatives through regular testing and documentation updates.

  • Mentor and coach team members, fostering knowledge sharing and technical growth.

  • Partner with IT leadership to define and communicate technology strategy and product ownership goals.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 8+ years working with VMware portfolio (VCF, SRM, vSAN, NSX, HCX)

  • 5+ years experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, GitHub Actions, and container technologies

  • 5+ years scripting experience (PowerShell, HCL, REST APIs, YAML/JSON, PowerCLI)

Preferred:

  • 2+ years experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PKI, or GPOs

  • 2+ years experience with infrastructure platforms (SAN arrays, Cisco UCS, Dell PowerFlex, Pure Storage)

  • 2+ years experience with operating systems (Windows Server, Red Hat)

  • VMware, Microsoft, HashiCorp, or Ansible certifications
