Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for assisting the Marketing Department with day-to-day marketing tasks, including printing, assisting with basic website updates, creating program and event signage, and photographing programs and events. This role also oversees The Kroc Center's social media accounts, and is responsible for scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages daily, and supporting marketing campaigns to ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of experience in marketing and design, strong attention to detail, proficiency in digital photography, and a solid understanding of current design, digital, and social media trends.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage social media presence by maintaining the content calendar, scheduling and posting regular updates, and ensuring consistent messaging across channels.
  • Monitor and respond to customer questions and messages on social media platforms and email in a timely and professional manner.
  • Print and distribute marketing materials on demand, including program guides, flyers, brochures, and other collateral.
  • Create digital and print signage throughout the Kroc Center, including promotional materials, event signage, and directional signage.
  • Update and maintain website content to ensure information is accurate, up to date, and reflects current programs and activities.
  • Assist with design and content creation for marketing materials, the program guide, flyers, website and social media graphics.
  • Maintain organized digital and marketing assets, including photos, videos, and design files.
  • Support marketing campaigns and events by preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and helping implement communication plans.
  • Assist with administrative marketing tasks, including tracking progress on campaigns and coordinating with other staff and departments
  • Stay informed on marketing trends and community engagement opportunities to support the Marketing Department's initiatives.


General Qualifications and Proficiencies:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in the field of marketing, advertising, communication, journalism, publishing, or public relations and at least 1 year of experience working in the field of graphic design, marketing, communications, or related degree.
  • High attention to detail, consistent reliable follow through and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines.
  • Proven multi-tasking ability as designers often work on more than one design project at a time.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with marketing-related vendors, graphic designers, photographers, and printers.
  • Service-oriented team player who can take initiative, work independently and quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Microsoft Office (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrates good judgment, resourcefulness, flexibility, attention to detail, and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children, adults, and other staff in a capacity of leadership, counseling, and education.
  • Possesses sensitivity and awareness of diverse cultural perspectives and the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Able to occasionally work weekend/evening hours and must have willingness and ability to travel.
  • Ability to work well with other employees, customers, and donors while maintaining the standards of The Salvation Army.
  • Be able to work with all ethnic and socio-economic populations.
  • Must successfully complete The Salvation Army's decision driver training and hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully complete The Salvation Army's 'Protecting the Mission' training.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, or walk for a minimum of eight hours per day.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers and reach overhead.
  • Ability to operate telephone.
  • Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
