We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, Production Salesforce Org Management & Governance to take full ownership and technical stewardship of our core enterprise Salesforce production environment.

This critical role sits within the Technology Team of the Field Readiness Organization, ensuring our platform effectively supports the operational and enablement needs of 75,000+ employees-with a focus on Sales, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams.

As the indispensable link between platform innovation and corporate governance, this leader ensures that all enhancements, changes, and deployments adhere strictly to security policies, compliance mandates (Trust/AI Councils), and internal deployment standards (Digital Experience Team).

The ideal candidate thrives in a high-governance environment, demonstrates deep Salesforce expertise, and has a proven track record managing both technical teams (Developers, UAT) and functional teams (BAs) through complex enterprise release cycles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Stewardship, Data Integrity, and Administration (40%)

  • Serve as the ultimate owner and SME for the stability, performance, and security of the production Salesforce environment.

  • Direct the full administrative function, including user provisioning, roles, profiles, permission sets, public groups, and sharing settings.

  • Partner with the Reporting Center of Excellence (COE) to ensure data engineering, quality, and integrations support accurate business reporting and analytics.

  • Oversee data governance practices to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance within the production org.

  • Lead triage and resolution of critical, production-impacting incidents in coordination with technical and business teams.

2. Release Management and Deployment Governance (30%)

  • Define, enforce, and optimize the end-to-end CI/CD and change management process across Dev, UAT, and Production.

  • Serve as the primary gatekeeper for all code and configuration deployments from internal development and innovation teams.

  • Oversee environment planning, provisioning, and management to support continuous integration and testing.

  • Partner with the Digital Experience Team (DET) to align deployment mechanisms, tools, and timelines with company policies.

  • Collaborate with the Innovation Team to ensure all Agentforce and Agent deployments are secure, compliant, and functional within the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Manage code promotion activities with proper backup, rollback, and documentation strategies for each release.

3. Compliance, Trust, and Council Liaison (20%)

  • Represent the Salesforce platform in governance forums, including the AI Council and Trust Council.

  • Secure necessary approvals and conduct impact assessments to address all security, ethical, and data privacy concerns before deploying new features or AI/ML-integrated technologies.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and Salesforce security best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

4. Leadership, Team, and Vendor Management (10%)

  • Directly manage and mentor Business Analyst direct reports.

  • Oversee and evaluate external Apex Developer and UAT Contractor teams for quality, methodology, and adherence to best practices.

  • Build trusted relationships with internal innovation and enablement teams to translate strategic goals into scalable, compliant platform solutions.

  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years managing, administering, and governing large-scale, production-critical Salesforce environments (50,000+ users).

  • Leadership: 3+ years as a Director or Senior Manager, including experience managing employees (BAs) and vendors/contractors (Developers).

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Expert-level understanding of Salesforce security model and administration.

    • Hands-on experience with SFDX, GIT, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, DevOps Center, Copado).

  • Release Management: Proven ability to own and manage end-to-end release processes and environment governance.

  • Governance: Experience navigating corporate compliance and securing approvals from councils (Trust, Security, Architecture).

  • Certifications: Salesforce Administrator (required); Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder, or System Architect (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Sales or Go-To-Market organizations within a large technology company.

  • Deep understanding of relevant Salesforce Clouds (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud).

  • Working knowledge of Agentforce and Data Cloud.

  • Familiarity with Apex, Visualforce, and LWC to guide developers and review deployment payloads.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
