HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Communications Intern will leverage demonstrated experience in writing, editing, and narrative development to support a broad range of tactics and communication styles, including brand storytelling, executive communication, philanthropy, and conservation science.

Throughout the internship you will research, craft, and edit materials alongside communication professionals and leading subject matter experts as you hone your ability to create impactful communications for a global audience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO



  • Crafts brand, executive, philanthropic, and conservation storytelling content for a wide variety of outlets, including print, digital, video production, and social.
  • Researches, creates, and edits content showcasing the work of San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance for a broad range of internal and external audiences.
  • Develops persuasive and compelling advertorial and editorial content for a variety of channels, including digital, on-grounds messaging, and print publications.
  • Edits material using AP and Chicago Manual of Style guides.
  • Assists with new communication initiatives, outlining audience segments, strategic targets, and content delivery to ensure organizational reach and optimization.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


Applicants must be currently pursuing, or planning to pursue, an undergraduate degree. Candidates who will have completed a bachelor's degree prior to the end of the internship are not eligible. A cover letter is required and must be included with the application for consideration.
