Position summary
Under the direction of the Department's Senior Director, follows a year-long structured curriculum of participation on senior-level hospital committees and completion of assignments while rotating through various clinical and non-clinical hospital departments. Participates in opportunities to observe and develop skills to assume a leadership role.

Key responsibilities
  • Rotates through clinical and non-clinical hospital departments completing short-term projects in each area with deliverables associated with each rotation.
  • Participates on key inter-departmental hospital committees to observe high-level hospital decision making and initiatives.
  • Observes hospital policy-making, decision-making, and general operations during a program that is tailored to allow the development of the fellow's interests in a structured but flexible learning experience characterized by interaction with senior and executive leadership.
  • Selects, develops and drives a longitudinal or department specific project that serves as a "capstone" project. Prepares a report and presents the project at a Department Heads meeting.
  • Attends organizational meetings, lectures and symposiums.
  • Attends one national conference or convention.
  • Meets regularly with the hospital's Chief Administrative Officer to be precepted and mentored by the CAO throughout the program.

Minimum qualifications

Education:
  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field.
Experience:
  • Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems.
  • Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicts views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well-developed written skills.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
